Have gone on vacation, suddenly you urgently need to make a report, and a computer in the office? Do you want to know how much time employees spend on social networks? For these and many other tasks, the answer is one – remote access to the computer. Since the topic of import substitution is now one of the priority (and the crisis in the yard), we decided to look at solutions in this direction and found domestic development with rather good prices.
Literally recently LiteManager for remote computer management, which will be discussed today, was updated to version 4.7, which attracted our attention. This is a convenient solution for remote management of computers, available not only for Windows, OS X and Linux, but even for Android.
Setting up LiteManager on Windows is incredibly simple – you download the client from the official site and work with the application. On a managed computer, you must run LiteManager Server, and on the one you will be working with, LiteManager Viewer.
When configuring LiteManager Server, you can select many options, including authorization to the computer with a password. The connection itself takes place either by the IP address of the computer, or by using a special ID – here it’s as easy as anyone. Specify the name of the connection, IP-address, after which the computer will be added to the client for viewing.
Enter the password that you specified during the configuration, and connect to the computer.
There are several modes of access to the computer: management, viewing, access to files, demonstration and others. If desired, you can even shut down the computer remotely.
The installation on OS X is somewhat more complicated, but you can sort it out in a few minutes. To run LiteManager, you will need an application emulator – for example, Wine orCrossOver. We took advantage of the latter, a painfully very convenient and simple interface.
LiteManager Viewer here looks exactly the same – a convenient window with all the features. The procedure for adding a computer is identical – by IP or ID. The connection itself takes place instantly: a couple of seconds and you are already “crawling” on the desktop of another computer.
In LiteManager Server there is a cool function “Information on connections” – you can find out who connected to your computer, from which IP-address. Very comfortably.
Cool that the program is fully compatible with the operating system Windows 10. The new version adds a built-in HelpDesk system, which is designed to send applications to specialists for technical assistance. In addition, LiteManager allows you to configure the corporate support service with your own servers.
A free and paid version of LiteManager is available, and free one can be used both for personal and commercial purposes.
I’m glad that you can control your computer from an Android smartphone or tablet using the application with the same name – just enter your details for authorization. Even on holidays or trips without a computer, you can now keep everything under control.
In general, this is an affordable budget analog TeamViewer with the ability to register a license for an unlimited number of computers, while the cost of a license is one of the lowest on the market – 15,000 rubles for a corporate license HelpDesk. The advantage is that the license is lifelong and has no limitations, all updates are free.
As for the cost for ordinary users, this is 300 rubles for one computer (for educational institutions – 50% discount). There is a free trial 30-day period – such a gesture of goodwill on the part of developers. For such money, you are unlikely to find a decent solution for remote management of a computer, especially since no one will force you to pay here every year.
